Best board for adaptive surfing!
I’ve wanted to try a smaller board for prone surfing for a while now, so I was so stoked when the R-Series Secret Menu went on sale. It’s so responsive, and paddles like a much larger board. So far, I’ve found that it’ll pretty much catch anything. Best part is the quality is amazing, even at a lower price point.
Oh, man!
Florida gulf coast. Im 6’1” 165# and my son is 6yo, 54” tall and 55#. Today was the first day hes ever surfed, and the first day Ive been able to break out the Secret Menu 5’4”. Conditions less than optimal. All day he was smiling from ear to ear. No tears or fears. Just wanted more. Im pleased to say the Secret Menu was awesome! Was way better than I expected, and we both loved it! Its quite surprising how fun it is. Cant say enough how glad I am with this purchase!!! #bestdaddayever
Stellar.
At 6’3 and 210 lbs I was skeptical about a 5’4”… enough to ask Almond personally and get as much information about the Secret Menu as I could. My shortest board is a 6’3” performance fish and I can say this board is just as accessible if not a little more. There is so much foam in the nose and tail of this that it easily compensates for the loss of length. I find when I paddle it my head is nearly off the front of the board, making it much easier to pop up than you’d expect. If you’re on the fence for length reasons.. go for it! For performance, only a few mushy small days so far but it is playful, skater, and accessible. I’ve thrown it in the car with any other board I take as a ‘just in case’ option because the foam makes travel so low stakes and the size fits easily in the car. When I do take it out I feel good going for later waves where I might be worried about getting knocked around against my glassed boards. Great accessory shorty for your quiver if you’re experienced or first endeavor into smaller boards for sure! Mine was a ‘second quality’ blemished board… and it was totally fine. People can be so picky!!! Small ding on the bottom that doesn’t affect performance at all.
