BBF
Get yourself a BBF. The crew at Almond were so helpful in the process of building my BBF. They gave feedback on size and helped guide me when picking colors. Overall the board came out great and I am stoked to ride it for years to come.
BBF for the win
The BBF shape really caught my attention. I recently got into quad fins, I noticed when surfing point breaks that extra bite gets me past the sections I need to in order to keep flying down the line. The swallow tail + pulled in rail allows me to really dial in the cut back. I ride the BBF with twin fin keels which is a lot of fun. I've had the chance to ride the BFF as a 6'4 and a 6'6. I'm 5'8 200 lbs, so the 6'6 really gave me the volume I needed to get any wave I wanted regardless of wave size. You can't go wrong with BBF. I'd love to see this in a shrunken version like a 5'5 - 5'9 and see how that moves.
BBF = magic
I’m ashamed that I’m just now writing a review about this board as I’ve had it a few weeks but I want you to know how stoked I am that you advised me on the 6’4 BBF! This thing is pure magic ! We have had good swell this week here in NJ solid head high and this thing really moves in those conditions. Paddles incredible, catches waves with ease! As an upper end beginner/lower end intermediate surfer what I love about this board is the sweet spot on it. I Feel like if I have a bad pop up or just an off day surfing the BBF is forgiving and I still have an awesome time surfing it! I can sit in the pocket and also get up and down the wave. I’ve ridden it in some smaller waste high waves too and honestly It works just as good . I’m Just so fired up for it and can’t wait till I get some more hours on it as I’m sure my surfing will only improve on the BBF ! Thanks again for everything hopefully I can get some pics on it and send your way! If you are thinking about buying a BBF or any Almond board in general, don’t think. JUST BUY IT . The customer service and friendliness of this team is incredible and is second to none. I had the pleasure of meeting and dealing with Cole but I imagine everyone at this shop is just as cool. Thanks Almond for all you do for the surfing community MIKE
Great Transition board from Long boarding
I've been a logger for a little over 10 years now. I was interested in trying out a short board and found Almond Surfboards. Friendly knowledgeable staff who helped me out and guided me in the custom board process every step of the way through. The BBF has a lot of volume for it's dims and I had a very good first impression trying a shorter board than my usual 9'2". Highly recommend for those who are experienced long boarders who want to give short boards a try!
Indeed very versatile board!!
Let me start with saying I LOVE THIS BOARD. Having a custom BBF 6'8" ordered and made from Almond was a great decision I have made. I was waiting for the right day to take the board out for a spin. Took it out to the Lowers (Trestle) when the wave height was 3-4ft and the tide was super low. I specifically chose to do the dawn patrol with super low tide so I can avoid the typical Lowers crowd (if you know what i mean). Although the my BBF is slightly big (6'8"), BBF turns on a dime. the V bottom coming from the nose to the tail excels the rail to rail capability and super easy to perform round house cutback. Still need more time to get adjusted to the board but I know I am truly happy to have the BBF in my quiver. Moreover, the aesthetic of the board is on point!!
