Quality
My interpretation was f this surfboard as well as others us one of the excellence. The shapes finish the over all craftsmanship is top grade. I highly recommend the Sano having had the pleasure to ride one. All expects of Almond surfboards are top draw.
Almond in Oz
this is my second 10ft Sano Special .... my first one lasted me close on 10 years which is testament to the build quality and materials these guys use to make boards. The Almond staff were very accommodating and helpful to get this board shipped from California to Australia. YEEEWWWW!!!
Sano Special- Going on year 8, still riding strong
Wife ordered me a custom 10’ Sano Special in 2014. We call it the mean green machine. Board was and still is beautiful, built exactly to specs as I wanted a log that could be easily knee paddled. Surfs in NY and NJ Beach breaks and points and has handled both impeccably. Can handle a steep drop, makes speed all on its own and beyond stable on the nose. Highly recommend. Shane
Great glide, easy paddle, maneuverable
I ordered a 9’2” SanO Special a while back and it quickly became one of my all-time favorite boards. You could probably use it as a “go anywhere, do anything” board, but it really does shine at our South County longboard breaks with slow rollers. A very easy paddle—I’m up so much faster now, because it’s basically paddle-paddle-pop! Very stable, great glide, and is much easier to maneuver than it has any right to be or looks like it would be. A true classic.
The perfect board!
I drove 14+ hours by myself last Saturday just to get my 9'4" Sano Special. Last few days were as flat as a pancake here in Santa Cruz, but today some waves finally came through. I took the board out for a quick lunch sesh, and wow, what an incredible 'first date' it was. First of all, the board is a piece of art. It's so beautiful I was first even a bit sad to put wax on it. As I was walking to beach, a fellow on a bicycle kept staring at the board he almost hit a tree. Seriously. Already in the water, navigating the curious and envious looks of the people in the lineup, I caught the first wave I paddled for with so much ease that I was like, wow this thing is gonna make me very happy. First wave I was already on the nose, cruising...I can't wait to get it out again next week when there's more swell! It's so easy to paddle, it turns to so well and it super stable for nose riding. I lost the count of how many waves I caught today in just 30-40minutes... Thank you so much Almond for making this wonderful board. I'll call it the Orange Clockwork. �
