The Low entry rocker and generous volume will help you to catch more waves, and glide into those waves earlier. Pintail and slight vee to help it turn, even from the middle of the board.

“Rad board” compliments 🤙

I recently purchased my second Almond board, a 7'10" Almond Joy to add to my quiver, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. The customer service was excellent, especially from Austin, who was incredibly helpful throughout the entire thing. The custom build process was very easy, and the team at Almond Surfboards made sure everything was perfect. In the end, I have a rad board that gets compliments from everybody and surfs like a dream. Highly recommend!

Had the beauty of a board shipped all the way over to the east coast of Florida, this board is amazing to ride it’s got such flow and really good paddle ability to catch tons of peaks out the back . And even just the look of this board I’ve received many complements on this board! Would highly recommend to the next.

Got this beauty of a board delivered all the way to the Florida east coast! Can say it rides absolutely amazing and would highly recommend getting your self one. The ease and glide on this board is so smooth, very easy to catch waves. Love it thanks!

is there any dimension deference with this 7'6 compared to a build to order one. only asking because of the price difference and am interested in ordering one i really love the look and color of this one just wanted to know if its the exact same before i order it.

I've been surfing for a year now on an 8ft foamie. I'm looking for my first fiberglass board that is ideally a bit smaller. I mostly surf Blackies in the mornings. I'm 5'8" and 140 lbs. What size would you recommend for me?

Thanks for reaching out! What type of surfing are you looking to be doing? My natural gravitation is towards a 6'4 or 6'6 Pleasant Pheasant. Its a fan favorite (including myself) and carries all the best features of a mid length in my personal opinion. It trims super well, carries speed and turns great. Come to our store! I purchased a 6’8” Plez Phez about two years ago and love the Almond brand. My next board will for sure be another Almond as I need to collect and add to my quiver. :-) I was looking at a custom build of the Joy for my next board. I typically surf Terra Mar Point in Carlsbad, CA. I am still fairly new to surfing and the Plez Phez has been good, but I am looking for something with more volume as I could use a stronger paddle to catch more waves. More waves means more practice with my riding. I am a 6'0" tall male weighing around 185 lbs. Can you offer up a suggested length for the Joy? I have read other reviews and it spans between 7'8" and 8'0", but unsure what you might recommend for me based on my experience and comments. Thank you!

Hi! And thanks for reaching out! I think this answer depends largely on what you want to be doing on the Joy. From your description, this sounds like a great option for your surfing. The 7'8" will allow the surfboard to have a "looser feeling" and be able to turn easier and put on rail. With less volume, means the surfer has to work a tad harder on paddling, but will be much easier and have much more glide compared to the Plez. If turning isn't as important, the 8'0" on the other end, will be easier to paddle. And it has the potential for more speed with less effort.
